Flying
On Friday I had the opportunity to do something very exciting. One of the business professors at Dordt owns his own airplane, and occasionally takes members of the Flight Club with him when he goes flying. I was fortunate enough to be one of those lucky students. We got to the airfield (a short paved runway with adjacent hangars) and started the usual pre-flight routine. When it was time to finally get going I was very excited.
Bernie (the professor) and TJ Lagastee (my brother's future brother-in-law) were in the front, and my roommate Brian and I were in the back of a small, 4-seater airplane. We took off, headed towards Sioux Center and flew mainly around the area for a while, then we headed back to the airfield. After we had landed, Bernie asked if I would like to come up front, and I knew I didn't want to pass this opportunity up. TJ and I switched seats and we took off again. As we leveled off and started cruising at 180mph, Bernie handed the controls over to me!!! It was indescribable how much fun I was having. I was actually flying an airplane, something I had never done before and it was awesome. I flew over Sioux Center, and then towards Orange City, and eventually back to the airfield. Even though it was only for a little while, it was still very thrilling and if given the opportunity, I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Jim,
Who is this girl we keep hearing so much about? Amy somebody or other?? For any of Jim's friends reading this, please feel free to post with more info. How many dates have you been on? Where did you go? How old is she? She works in the library, right?
I heard about the flying from TJ, sounds pretty cool. Does Bernie still call you John?

Amy is a 20 year old junior and an Elementary Education/Communication major from Randolph, WI.
She currently lives in East Campus, Building E, Room 4.
Jim and Amy have been on two dates - the first was at "The Outback" followed by a movie in Sioux City. The second date was at Culvers in Sioux Falls followed by "the Incredibles" in Jim's room.
Currently Amy works in the Dordt library where she checks books out for students. Ironically, that's where Jim first "checked her out".
If you need any more information, just ask - I am a fountain of information. Also, I will keep you informed on the status of their relationship.
PS. Amy loves salt.
Here's a good link to that 2nd picture:

Something tells me I should remove that post, but it was so darn hilarious that I just can't.
Johnny-well done on the comment, perhaps your best. However, on date #2 you forgot to mention mini-golf, which I won. Thats right, two hole-in-one's helped me be victorious over Amy.
That is all, thank you, come again.
Well Jim, it seems that luck is on your side.
Let's look a little deeper into Amy's profile:
You say she's an Education major? Perfect. jt is also an Ed major, so he's your in. Not only that, but she loves kids. Lots of kids.
She's also a Communication major. I'm a communication major. I will make her want you so bad that you'll have to fight her off with a stick. Trust me.
So which of your three friends is left? You guessed it - Lawren. It just so happens that Amy is a co-worker of Lawren's in the library. Lawren can read her like a book, y'all.
If that's not incentive enough to keep at it, I don't know what is. But if in case you're not yet convinced, I think jt will tell you that her last name is a winner.
Now go get 'em.
I think this post is rightfully named "Flying". That is how Jim has been feeling ever since he met Amy.
PS. I bet Amy would like to see what we are talking about. I just might send her a little note via email.
