i-Got an i-Pod

Not to copy Edmund's post from a long time ago, but I do want to inform the blogger world (or this blog's 7 readers) that I finally broke down and purchased an iPod, 30GB video iPod (black)to be exact.

I have thoroughly enjoyed it's companionship thus far. Spending quality time holding her, browsing her many functions, and gazing deeply into her color screen.

Now, the reason for this post. On August 21 I will be departing for Escondido. Leaving Michigan, I plan to have a playlist playing as I pull out of my driveway. This playlist will have such songs that refer to Michigan or California in some way.

For instance, Ben Fold's "Kalamazoo," Gordon Lightfoot's "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald," 2-Pac's "California Love," Beach Boy's "California Girls," Sugar Cult's "Back to California," The Starting Line's "Playing Favorites," and last, but by no means least, "Go West Young Man" by Michael W. Smith.

And I ask you, readers, what songs can you think of that are missing from my current playlist? Songs referring to Michigan or California in any way will be accepted.

There's a country oldie that I can't remember the name of, but it has a line to the effect, "All the gold in California is in a bank in Beverly Hills in someone else's name"

How about Notorious BIG's "Going Back To Cali". While you are not technically 'going back' to Cali, you are 'going' to Cali....

The New Amsterdams: "From California"

Eagles: "Hotel California"

Unwritten Law: "California Sky"

I also recommend these driving songs to keep you nice and alert on the road:

Saves the Day: "Driving in the Dark"

A Change of Pace: "Asleep at the Wheel"
